Homeschool

Week one is complete and we are on to week two!

Our first day, the girls had classes. One day a week they go and have a certified teacher teach subjects I prefer not to teach. These are a little pricey, but I just don't want to teach middle school English or Algebra, And I certainly am not going to dissect sheep heart with my kids!

So on Mondays it's just Nathan and I. It's our short day, I focus just on Nathan, and we usually play a game or two, and spend a little more time reading on his level.

We sat down to begin and immediately we're interrupted by very loud chainsaws! Sitting at our dining room table we were able to watch 7 pine trees being cut down out of our neighbors yard! The noise went on all day, till dark! It really was exciting!

Nathan is doing Math-u-see, and this week he worked on multiplying by 7's and 8's.

For history we learned about Leaf Ericson, and the Vikings, Christopher Columbus, we learned about the first discoveries of America, and the fact that they thought they were in India. We also learned about Squanto the Indian.

For Bible we are reading the New Testament. This week we started in Mathew.
